Meet the Directors

Michael Silhavy works in the Office of Parish Services for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis. He has also worked as associate director of the archdiocesan worship office, diocesan director of music, and director of the archdiocesan choir. A native of Chicago, he has also worked in parish, cathedral and university settings. He received his training in music, theology and liturgy at De Paul University, Loyola University (Chicago) and St. John's University. He also conducts the adult and children's choir at the Church of Saint William in Fridley.


Wendy Barton Silhavy is the Pastoral Associate for Liturgy and Music at Our Lady of Peace Church in Minneapolis where she conducts the adult choir, contemporary ensemble and children's choir. She also teaches liturgical music in Our Lady of Peace School and assists at Annunciation Church in Minneapolis. She is a graduate of Drake University (Des Moines) and Saint John's University School of Theology (Collegeville). She is a private piano instructor and is proficient in organ, piano, voice and flute.


Dr. Lynn Trapp holds a distinguished career as concert organist, conductor, composer and liturgist, and has gained a national and international reputation for his work. Lynn is presently Director of Worship & Music, Organist at St. Olaf Catholic Church where he directs an extensive worship department with choral & liturgical ministry, concert series, and radio and television ministry. Lynn is an active recitalist and has performed for churches, cathedrals, and universities in many major cities of the U.S and Europe. He received the BMus degree from Southern Illinois University (Carbondale), the MMus degree from the University of Notre Dame, began doctoral work at the Eastman School of Music (Rochester, NY) and received the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree from the University of Kansas. His career archives have been established in perpetuity at Hesburgh Library, University of Notre Dame.
